Solar Thermal Above the Arctic Circle

This project is funded by the Denali Commission's Emerging Energy Technology Grant Fund program.

Hot solar thermal fluid is collected on the roof and pumped to this storage tank. There heat exchangers transfer the heat to water for domestic hot water use. A secondary heat exchanger transfers heat to the glycol for hydronic base board heating. Here you can see the inner plumbing, storage tank and heat exchangers that transfer heat and store it for use.
