KEA Members,
This summer we will be replacing all of the meters in town with new Eaton Smart Meters. These Radio Frequency meters will transmit the monthly readings back to us so staff will no longer have to take readings manually. This will also give us greater ability to see any power outages around town. Each meter will take less than ten minutes to change out. It will require us to turn off your power while we do this. The Line Crew will try to communicate with each resident before the installation if you are at home when they arrive to change out the meter. We appreciate your patience. This is a significant upgrade for KEA. The funding for this was provided by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Alaska Center for Energy and Power.
